The mission of the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation is to conduct research, provide education and develop programs to improve the quality of life of persons who experience traumatic brain injury.

What is TBI?
(Traumatic Brain Injury)

BrainThe Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems defines brain injury as damage to brain tissue caused by an external mechanical force as evidenced by: loss of consciousness due to brain trauma, post traumatic amnesia, skull fracture, or objective neurological findings that can be reasonably attributed to TBI on physical examination or mental status examination.
